Global Fight League (GFL) has officially announced Dillon Danis vs. Tony Ferguson!
Not long ago, Danis had publicly stated he was retiring from fighting – while Ferguson was enduring the longest losing streak in UFC history.
And, although Ferguson never hinted at retirement, many believed it was only a matter of time before he stepped away from competition.
However, after Ferguson was released from the UFC following eight consecutive losses, he made it clear he wasn’t done.
Instead of retiring, he signed a new contract with GFL.
Around the same time, Danis also made his return to professional fighting by signing with the promotion, marking his first MMA fight in nearly six years.
And now that the GFL has begun revealing its first wave of fights, the promotion has made it clear that they’re aiming for high-profile, unconventional matchups.
The confirmation of Frank Mir vs. Fabricio Werdum set the tone for the kind of fights fans can expect – and the addition of Ferguson vs. Danis only reinforces that approach!
The promotion shared the news about the fight via social media.
Who will you be rooting for? Danis or Ferguson?
