BJ Penn Shows Video Of Himself Allegedly Violating Restraining Order

Former UFC champion B.J. Penn has been arrested for the fifth time this year, most recently for violating a court-ordered protection order involving his mother, Lorraine Shin.

Penn was taken into custody last week and later released on $2,000 bail.

The 46-year-old has faced multiple charges throughout 2025, including abuse of a family or household member and repeated violations of restraining orders.

His ongoing conflict with his mother has drawn increasing public attention, particularly as Penn has claimed that his family members have been “murdered and replaced by imposters”.

Over the weekend, Penn posted an Instagram video appearing to confront Shin about finances tied to a UFC Gym business venture.
In the footage, Shin repeatedly asked him to stop harassing her and threatened to call police:

Please don’t harass me. I’m tired of your harassing me. Do you want me to call the police again?

Penn, meanwhile, insisted he was owed a controlling stake in the company:

Just give me my fair share of the company… I just want 51 percent.

In court filings earlier this year, Shin described Penn as “mentally unstable” and said she believes he suffers from Capgras delusional syndrome – a psychiatric disorder where someone believes loved ones have been replaced by imposters:

He believes I’m an imposter who has killed his family to gain control of the family assets.
