22 year old Ariadne Oliveira became world champion of WPJJC in United Arab Emirates last weekend. She was received by friends and relatives in Campo Grande international airport on Monday morning. After a 15 hours flight and a long wait in the terminal, she landed in South Mato Grosso’s capital displaying the gold medal won in the Middle East. Ariadne, who was a brown belt, faced black belt rivals and won all four fights by submission.
She submited multiple world champion Michelle Nicolini, in the semifinal of the World Pro:
“I faced with girls that I’m fan of. I honestly did not think I was going to win. I expected just to make good fights. It was better than I imagined. Got the submission in all my four fights. I am very happy. I think that was the biggest title of my career. “
Ariadne earned a black belt upon landing from her master and father Joao Manuel.

For the fighter, receiving his black belt at the airport was a surprise:
My father had told me I would receive the belt, but I thought it would be in Corumbá. He made a surprise, friends and colleagues also joined in the celebration.

Ariadne started practicing jiu-jitsu with her father nine years ago. She has two Brazilian featherweight titles and took 2nd place at world championship in California in 2013.
Her next commitment is the world again in the United States at the end of May.
