Bellator In Negotiations For a Fedor Emelianenko vs. Randy Couture MMA Fight

It looks like everybody wants to see MMA legends Fedor Emelianenko and Randy Couture face off.

Bellator CEO Scott Coker told the media following the Bellator 123 fight card on Friday that he was working on a fight between Randy Couture and Fedor Emelianenko.

Both fighters are retired but both have also expressed disappointment over the fight never happening.

Coker had an excellent relationship with Fedor from the time he was fighting in Strikeforce (which Coker used to preside)

He told the media:

“All I can say is that we’re in dialogue with M-1, but that’s all I have to say at this time about that,” Coker said. “You know, that’s a fight I personally would love to see, but I just don’t know if it’s going to happen,”

About Randty Couture:

“Randy? He’s dancing with the stars now,” Coker said with a laugh. “I mean, he’s not going to want to go fight Fedor now that he’s hanging out with some good-lookin’ girls dancing every night. “But we’ll see him next. We’ll talk to him and see what he has to say.”

The UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture recently appeared on Submission Radio, and said he was open to facing Fedor in a grappling match at Metamoris:

“That would be interesting and certainly given the time to prepare and get back up into good, solid grappling and wrestling shape, that would be a lot of fun and I think, you know,” said Couture as transcribed by Jesse Holland for MMAMania. “I’m not sure how active Fedor is at this stage, you know him being retired as well, but I’m certainly no opposed to an idea like that.”
