B-Team Jiu-Jitsu Officially Rebrands As Simple Man Martial Arts

One of the most recognizable teams in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has turned the page on its history – as B-Team Jiu-Jitsu has now officially rebranded as Simple Man Martial Arts, marking both the end of an era and the beginning of a new direction for the squad.

The decision came after Craig Jones, one of the founding members, left the team as he stepped away from competition altogether.
With Jones gone, the remaining leaders – Nicky Rodriguez, Nicky Ryan, Ethan Crelinsten, and Damien Anderson – decided it was time to move forward under a new name and identity.

The announcement was made during the live broadcast of Craig Jones Invitational 2.
The event also served as the team’s final outing under the B-Team banner, and they left on a high note, winning the tournament in the last round.

But the win wasn’t without controversy.
Disagreements over the ruleset left fans divided, and organizers ultimately resolved the issue by awarding New Wave Jiu-Jitsu the same million-dollar prize, regardless of the outcome.

Although not the clean farewell they might have envisioned, it was nonetheless a fittingly dramatic close to the B-Team chapter.

Now rebranded as Simple Man Martial Arts, the team has aligned its name with their popular podcast, Simple Man.
Dropping “Jiu-Jitsu” in favor of “Martial Arts” also signals a bigger shift – the group has confirmed plans to expand into MMA, further broadening their scope beyond grappling alone.
