Mistakes… Happen. To everyone, famous or not; but it does have a lot more weight to it if you’re someone who is well-known to the public.
And it can be a bit embarrassing – such as Paige VanZant, an ex UFC fighter, found out.
VanZant posted on Twitter that, when she was flying to Texas with her husband – Austin Vanderford – she found herself in an awkward situation.
Namely, she made her reservation under her stage name (VanZant) and not her married name (Vanderford). So, the airport staff asked her for to prove who she was, since the plane ticket had one name and the passport had another.
She tried to prove it by Googling herself on the Internet… But, unfortunately, the first thing that came up on the results page was an article saying that she and her husband made a sex tape.
It was a super awkward situation, but it seems that “12 Gauge” handled it well:
So, my flight to Texas got booked under, Vanzant, which I still go by professionally, But my legal last name is my husbands @austinv170mma …. So to prove who I am I googled myself. First article they see “Paige Vanzant and Husband make sex tape”….. F-U reporters 🤣
