Arman Tsarukyan Booked For Grappling Match Against Sharaputdin Magomedov

Arman Tsarukyan is set to step onto the grappling mat later this year, as he’s been booked to face fellow UFC veteran Sharaputdin Magomedov at Hype Armenia on December 30th.

The matchup brings together two elite MMA fighters known for their wrestling and top control, though they arrive at very different stages of their careers.

Tsarukyan has been a fixture in the UFC since 2019 and currently sits at number one in the lightweight rankings.
His victory over Charles Oliveira at UFC 300 positioned him as the next title contender, even though the championship opportunity has yet to materialize.

Magomedov, meanwhile, is still early in his UFC run with just six appearances so far, but he carries a strong 16–1 professional MMA record.
Though best known for his knockout power, he has shown solid grappling ability when needed.

His biggest advantage in this matchup will be size, as he typically competes at middleweight, two divisions above Tsarukyan.
The grappling bout will also take place at 185 pounds.

Tsarukyan will likely face challenges imposing his takedown-heavy game against a larger opponent with proven defensive skills, but he’s no stranger to grappling bigger athletes.

He’s competed frequently in submission grappling recently, most notably delivering a dominant performance and submission win over Benson Henderson at ACBJJ 18.
