Rodolfo Vieira is set to make his long-awaited return to the grappling world after a four-year hiatus…
By facing UFC veteran Derek Brunson in the no-gi main event of ADXC 7 on November 17, 2024!
Vieira, one of the sport’s most decorated competitors, has been a standout in gi grappling since he rose to fame as a brown belt in 2009.
That breakout performance earned him the nickname “The Black Belt Hunter”, after he defeated two-time world champion Braulio Estima in a combined brown and black belt division at the Abu Dhabi World Pro.
Over the years, Vieira amassed an impressive collection of titles, including six Abu Dhabi World Pro championships, five IBJJF World Championships, and an ADCC title in 2015.
Shortly after achieving these heights, he transitioned to MMA – making his professional debut in 2017.
After a perfect 5-0 record in regional circuits, Vieira signed with the UFC, leaving competitive BJJ to focus on his MMA career.
Known for his elite grappling, Vieira’s MMA record now stands at 10-2.
At the same time, however, he hasn’t competed in a grappling match since his 2020 loss to Kaynan Duarte at Who’s Number One 5 – until now!
Set to compete in the no-gi main event at ADXC 7, Vieira’s matchup against Derek Brunson – a seasoned wrestler and NCAA Division II standout – is almost certainly going to be an exciting one.
