ADCC East Coast Trials: Full Results & Highlights

The 2021 ADCC East Coast Trials did not disappoint. In an event with around 800 total competitors, a number of elite grapplers went against each other in order to secure their place at the next year’s ADCC championship.
Here are the results and some of the highlights from the Trials.

ADCC EAST COAST TRIALS: 66KG DIVISION

It was Cole Abate who won the 66kg division. The 16 year old phenom defeated many high-ranking grapplers on his way to the finals, where he met with Keith Krikorian – who is the previous Trials winner.
There, Abate showed a brilliant guard passing and top control game, which ultimately led to a clean 10-0 victory.

ADCC EAST COAST TRIALS: 77KG DIVISION

ADCC EAST COAST TRIALS: 88KG DIVISION

In the finals of the 88kg division, it were Giancarlo Bodoni and Elder Cruz who went to war. Bodoni had previously defeated the always-entertaining Jacob Couch in the semifinals, whereas Cruz was relentless in all of his wins up until the finals.
And such was the case in the finals, as Cruz went for one takedown after another… All of which were successfully defended by Bodoni; who, eventually, went for a takedown himself and then pulled Half Guard. He then stood up with his opponent, took him down and took the back for the gold via a lead by 3 points.

She utilized her Closed Guard skills in a rather patient manner throughout the finals match, until she found an opening to take Alexandria Enriquez’s back – taking the gold via points.
And in the 60kg+ division, Kendall Reusing won the finals match via points, by advancing to the Mount late into her match against Amy Campo.
