AD World Pro Weight Finals: Rodolfo Impresses, Marcos Souza Surprises etc…

In Abu Dhabi, the ultimate authority is the Sheik Tahnoon Bin Zayed Al-Nay Nan. But inside the dojo, the one who commands the country is Rodolfo Vieira. The athlete from GFTeam confirmed his favorite status and took the title in the category up to 94kg, on Friday, at the World Pro. Marcus Buchecha, also got to the final in the +100kg division, but gave the title to his master, Rodrigo Cavaca in a disputed fight paced fight – the prize money will be split for both.

The anticipated duel between André Galvão and Romulo Barral was stopped prematurely. Romulo felt an injury as he was overthrown by his opponent and had to leave the confrontation. Michelle Nicolini has a fantastic turnaround

Mackenzie Dern, daughter of Wellington Megaton, was close to securing a new gold medal in the black belt for a country other than Brazil, but the North American with Brazilian blood was eventually overcome by Michele Nicolini. Behind in advantages, Nicolini swept in the last seconds, and came out with the victory.

Bia Mesquita beats Luanna Alzuguir

Bia knew how to use the experience and tactics to overcome Luanna, who had defeated her in the previous editions of the World Professional. With two points on the scoreboard, the gold medal went to the student of Leticia Ribeiro.

Thiago Marques took silver at the World Abu Dhabi in 2012. He entered this year’s final willing to take the title home. Quickly placing a beautiful triangle he forced a tap from Samuel Hertzog.

Tanquinho defeats Rubens ‘Cobrinha’

Tanquinho pulled guard in the initial movements and then managed to open with 2-0. Combative from above, the representative of the Soul Fighters was battling it out with his opponent, who was unable to sweep. Tanquinho rode out the 2 points until the end.

Leandro Lo overcomes Lucas Lepri

With the support of his girlfriend, Luiza Monteiro, Leandro Lo fought a balanced match with Lucas Lepri. Marcos Souza knocks out Vitor Estima

José Braga Neto beats Jose Junior

Antonio Braga Neto failed to submit Jose Junior throughout the fight. With the score 2-0, the black belt from Roberto Gordo, took the gold medal without too much dufficulty.

Rodrigo Cavaca defeats Marcus Buchecha

In the duel between the teacher and the student, the master came out on top.  In a fight that looked like a training roll, Rodrigo Cavaca defeated Marcus Buchecha, by 7-2, and grabbed the title. Buchecha, the pupil, had to settle for the runner-up.
