Actor Vince Vaughn Talks About The Benefits Of Jiu-Jitsu: “You Can Handle Yourself”

Renowned actor Vince Vaughn, a longtime Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu enthusiast, recently shared his thoughts on the benefits the sport can provide for children.

Vaughn began training in 2016 and earned his blue belt in 2018 under Rener and Ryron Gracie.
And, while it’s unclear how actively he still trains, both of his children are regular practitioners.

Vaughn offered a firsthand perspective of the benefits of Jiu-Jitsu, both as a practitioner and a parent:

I just think, you know, you make a lot of friends.
I think also it gives you a lot of confidence you can handle yourself.

You can see the kids really, you know, go after it in a safe environment where they’re learning.
There’s instructors who are constantly walking around and monitoring what they’re doing, giving tips and giving notes.

He continued to explain further:

I think it just helps kids, you know, have an area where they can test themselves and be physical so off the mat they really don’t have a lot to prove.

So they’re a little more capable to walk away from a situation because they kinda have an outlet for their aggression and they feel confident that they can handle situations obviously.

So it helps them actually resolve conflicts and have less problems.
