2013 Pan: Michael Liera Jr Takes Double Gold @Purple Belt And The Rest Of The Action

Day 3 of the 2013 Pan was all about the very exciting purple belts. The big star was Atos’s Michael Liera who had a great achievement taking the double gold at weight and absolute. Liera fights as a lightweight.

The absolute final was against Felipe Silva (Barbosa JJ) and was a very strategical battle and was decided on the details.

About his achievement taking the final, <Liera said “I was in disbelief! It has always been my dream to win weight and division at a big event like the Pan,”

About getting promotted to brown belt, Micgael had this to say: “That’s up to my Professor Andre Galvão. If he thinks I’m ready, I’t will be an honor”, answered Liera, with caution.

The purple belt women’s division also was full of action and emotion with a absolute final that was a rematch from the final of the middle weight division between Monique Elias and Dominkya Obelenyte who are both of team Alliance.

Monique Elias

Monique took the gold in the middle weight against Dominyka by a close match but the open weight gold went to Dominyka . It was a back and forth battle but the referee decision went to Dominyka.
