Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping officially announced his retirement from MMA competition 28 May 2018.
Bisping said that his retirement was due to an eye injury suffered in the fight with Kelvin Gastelum.
“I started having issues with my good eye as well after the Gastelum fight. I was like, this isn’t worth it. The reason I retired was the Gastelum fight. ”
Bisping suffers from strabismu. He had a detached retina injury from the fight with Vitor Belfort.
Now Bisping has an artificial eye which he can remove at will and he’s proud to show it off:
