So you’re a freshly-minted BJJ purple belt, congratulations! It’s a fantastic achievement and you’re now one of the most dangerous people on the mats. That deserves a ton of respect, plus given how far you’ve come so far – you’re almost certain to become a black belt in the future.
However, you still need to keep your eyes on the prize. You still have to keep improving; which, as a BJJ purple belt, can often be difficult to do.
Just got promoted to purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu? Congratulations!
Here are a couple of things you should keep in mind to keep improving, now that you’re in this new stage on your BJJ journey – as shared by Mikey Musumeci:
A Black Belt under the legendary Renzo Gracie, Shawn Williams is one of the great BJJ instructors of a generation.
- Master this no gi passing system with the body lock as the centerpiece to develop a truly dynamic top game, and add dozens of high efficiency techniques to your toolbox.
- Learn proper smash passing fundamentals, body lock gold, leg pummeling secrets, and more from the man that’s been a balck belt for nearly two decades and came up alongside some of BJJ’s most acclaimed icons, like John Danaher and Ricardo Almeida.
Sloth Jiu-Jitsu: you can be slow and unathletic and still kick butt in Jiu-Jitsu.
