[Video] Cage Fighter Assists Police With Armed Suspect

Last night  the department of Kingston Metropolitan Police in London received some more than handy help from a casual passer by.

The incident in question happened in Yorkshire and the whole thing was captured on CCTV.

The dramatic footage show a policeman struggling to detain a suspect yielding a very large knife.

The 12 inch butcher’s knife was yielded by Dean Edwards, 28 who had it in his waistband when he resisted arrest from officer Rich Farrar when he was spotted behaving erratically.

The shocking video below depicts Edwards launching himself backwards as he tries to flee before the knife falls to the ground.

Lucky for officer Farrar martial artist Andy Haigh, 49, was just passing by when he leapt into action to help the struggling policeman.

Andy Haigh is a Thai boxer from Leeds but he was trained in jujitsu so he put Edwards in a strangle hold long enough to enable the officer in question to restrain the suspect.

Mr Haigh added to dailymail: ‘I couldn’t see him struggle on his own. He was a lone police officer trying to make an arrest and I just helped him out. Someone was going to get hurt.’
