At the UFC 198 weigh ins, Matt Brown was being booed and insulted by the Curitiba crowd, when he turned his back to the fans and flipped them off.
Before the fight, Matt Brown got hit multiple times by fans during UFC 198 walkout.
The UFC welterweight was hit at least three times by fans while walking to the Octagon for his UFC 198 bout against Demian Maia on Saturday night in Curitiba, Brazil.
Brown was dominated and submitted by Demian Maia with a rear naked choke in the third round.
The UFC reacted by finding the culprit and ejecting him from the arena. UFC’s Giovani Decker during the post fight press conference :
“We identified who it was that pulled him, and we took him out of the arena. Moving forward, we’re just going to have to be extra careful especially when the foreign fighters are walking out. But whoever it was that pulled him we took him out of the arena.”
His problem continued at the hotel. According to Brian Stann, Brown was attacked by a fan who ran into his hotel, and then tried to take off and run. It turns out, that it was Brown’s ex Jiu-Jitsu coach Rodrigo Botti who attacked Brown.

Random fan runs into hotel, hits Matt Brown, and runs. Matt's friend catches him. Wow

Not a random fan. Guess it is a guy who has had a long time grudge w/ Matt, old coach or something, odd. Security has him now
