UFC Star Sean O’Malley Promoted to Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Up and coming UFC fighter ‘Suga’ Sean O’Malley has been promoted to brown belt from his BJJ instructors Augusto “Tanqinho” Mendes and Tim Welch.

‘Suga’ has a 13-1 professional MMA record and has often showcased his Grappling in his fights. O’Malley rebounded from a TKO loss to Marlon “Chito” Vera with a 3rd round KO of Thomas Almeida at UFC 260. He will now face Louis Smolka at UFC 264 on July 10.

O’Malley has in professional grappling tournaments where he competed in Quintet Ultra. He submitted Takanori Gomi, lost to Hector Lombard, and drew against Gilbert Melendez.

He also lost last year by heel hook to Robert Degle at Grappling industries:
