UFC Bantamweight Merab Dvalishvili Takes On a Group Of College Wrestlers

#1 ranked UFC bantamweight Merab Dvalishvili is well known in the UFC as one of the most accomplished wrestlers. His success is largely attributed to his incredibly high number of takedowns. Being a Sambo vice-world champion, his double leg takedown and cross-trip double leg being two of his most used techniques.

For the double leg, he typically sets it up by timing under his opponent’s punches, catching them low and running through their legs.

For the cross-trip double leg, Merab typically will change levels, aim for the waist and will wrap up an ankle. These effective takedown strategies showcase his craft in utilizing a variety of techniques to take down opponents while also mitigating risk.
