Travis Stevens’ Best Sneaky Takedown For BJJ

Travis Stevens has a great combo that he used to do a lot back in the days in Judo competition when Leg Grabs were still allowed.

Between 2009 and 2010 the International Judo Federal (IJF) ruled to ban leg grabs from it’s arsenal.

The move consists of going for a drop Sode (a double sleeve throw) and as the opponent defends, you can transition to a Kataguruma/ Fireman’s carry.

Travis Stevens says that this would of course work great in BJJ were leg grabs are allowed. It’s important to not roll over how Judokas do and instead stabilize the position.
