The latest edition of the Abu Dhabi grand slam tour took place today in Tokyo, Japan.
Plenty of big names made the trip to the other side of the globe. Among them are Mackenzie Dern, Xande Ribeiro, Felipe Preguica, Gabriel Arges and others.
Dern was keeping her jiu-jitsu sharp when not training MMA and won the brown/black adult 70kg division having finished Australia’s Megan Green via leg lock.
Elsewhere the biggest match of the tournament was Xande Ribeiro against Felipe Pena in the finale of the upto 94kg division. To get there Xande Ribeiro secured at least two submissions (pictured below)

Xande hung in there but ended up losing via points – final score being 4:2 for Felipe Pena.
Gabriel Arges struggled a little bit in the semi finals but ended up defeating Youngam Nog after all. Arges secured a victory via advantage and moved on to the finals where he won against Al Kitbe on points.
