Marcelo Garcia has outdone himself. The perfect reputation of the jiu jitsu ace just got another major bump as he took his time when promoting a student – instead of a brown belt 4th stripe which was strongly hinted at with Garcia holding the belt Garcia promoted him to black. Of course student in question is no well known Gianni Grippo. Many might not be aware but Grippo actually started at Renzo Gracie Academy. Him leaving was quite a controversy at the time as plenty of people weighed in and nobody at the actual gym knew he was leaving.
