The armlock or armbar is a submission that aims to hyperextend the arm into compromising positions. There are two basic types of armlocks – the straight armlock and the bent armlock. The straight armlock is where you submit the opponent’s arm by straightening it and pushing it opposite the elbow joint.
The Armbar is in place, but… Your training partner is defending against it with all their might – holding on to that grip as strongly as they can.
Your setup was great and you finally have that Armbar… But your training partner is defending against it and holding onto their other hand for their dear life. What are you supposed to do?
