The “Money Vela” – Old School Armlock Setup From Standing

One of the greatest thing about Jiu-Jitsu is its vast arsenal of submission holds. These can come from any position and in the most unexpected way.

A very good postion to set up submissions is from standing. An old school technique that Helio Gracie was teaching is the arm wrench when the opponent grabs an underhook or grabs you around the waist in a self defense situation.

The Money Vela is one of those old school techniques that will catch your opponents off-guard… And that you have to be careful when applying against training partners.
Plus, if it doesn’t work, you can always use it as a setup for a foot sweep.
