This technique as well as Te Guruma are now banned in Judo.

In 2013 all leg grabbing techniques were banned in competition by IJF, Judo’s rulling body.

Their goal was to make Judo more dynamic and attractive, but by enforcing this change, many of Judo’s original techniques were lost forever.
