Specific Training: Here’s Why You Have To Use It In Jiu-Jitsu

Are you feeling as if you’re struggling with a certain area of your Jiu-Jitsu skillset?
And it seems that, no matter what you try to do, you just can’t seem to move past this plateau?

Well, one of the things that you probably haven’t tried – and that are highly effective – is utilizing specific training.
Brian Glick explains why this is the case:

Stratetizing and thinking through solutions can give you direction – but there’s no substitute for narrowing the focus of your physical training on the mat.

Things might seem as if they’re getting worse when you approach the problem from this direction.
However, that’s because you’re handling the problem head on:

When you dive deeply into a particularly thorny problem, things may seem to get worse before they get better… But don’t despair.
It’s probably because you’re finally looking clearly and directly at the thing you need to improve.

If you can stick with it and do it consistently, you’ll find you come up with insights, patterns, problems and solutions you can work with immediately.

You may suffer in the short term… But you’ll grow in the long term.
