Yoel Romero had much trouble making weight but he more than made up for it with a tremendous performance in the octagon.
Yoel Romero finished Luke Rockhold in the third round with a violent knockout Saturday night. Two rounds earlier, though, Romero might have actually broken his leg.
“Yes, I think in the first round I took two kicks and I’m pretty sure that it broke my leg,” Romero said through a translator.

“I felt very good,” Romero said. “We trained very hard for this fight, we trained very good for this fight. We had six-, seven-round sparrings. I had no worries whatsoever in terms of cardio. If we would have some small changes, we would have had a better result.”
😳 Lights out. Goodnight. 😳

Update: Hours after the card, Romero’s manager Abe Kawa posted on Twitter that Romero’s leg injury might not have been as severe as he originally thought.
