Rafael Lovato Jr.: “As Long As You Keep Showing Up, You Can Do Anything”

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu? Sure, there are many lessons out there that can (and will) be learned as you walk along, but what is the greatest one? Well, for Rafael Lovato Jr., one of the best lessons he’s learned was the one of “showing up”.
Namely, he reminisced about the time he received his BJJ green belt… 25 years ago! And, in retrospect, the passing of time showed him that all things are achievable if one decides to keep moving forward:

The amazing thing about the journey of Jiu-Jitsu is that it shows you that, as long as you keep showing up, you can do anything. Just as mountains are climbed one step at a time, if you focus on getting a little better everyday, over time you will develop mountains of skill.
Jiu-Jitsu taught me how to never give up & to enjoy the process along the way.

And once you think about it… Isn’t the skill of showing up the greatest one you can learn in life as well? To keep going when things aren’t going your way, to keep working towards a worthwhile goal… And to keep doing it because you are convinced that what you’re doing is good for you.
Which Jiu-Jitsu certainly is.
