Police Officer Lands Big Takedown On Resisting Suspect But Fails Miserably To Hold Him Down

The potential for jiu jitsu to enable police officers to be better at their job is enormous. We often observe videos like trips and perfect stand up technique enabling men in nasty situations to defend themselves regardless of what side of the conflict they’re on.

However for  Law Enforcement Officers there’s an obvious benefit to knowing ground work – aka Brazilian jiu-jitsu but for some police their knowledge of grappling is so bad that it can lead to some tragicomic incidents such as this one:

The Power Of The Kimura Lock & Control For Police Officers

In this recent incident which happened in Indiana at the Kroger supermarket, a police officer stepped in to try to arrest a suspect. When the suspect was resisting arrest, they clinched and the police officer was able to land a big takedown. Once they hit the ground the police officer struggled to control the suspect, and even had his taser taken away from him by the suspect. A lack of grappling training was obvious and sad to see. Thankfully some people stepped in to help the police officer.
