Grapplers are universally known for their braveness which sometimes comes in handy when faced with dangerous real life situations.
Who can forget the case of US airman and BJJ practitioner Spencer Stone who famously stopped a armed terrorist on a high speed train bound for Paris a few years back:
Hero Spencer Stone Who Stopped Terrorist Using Jiu-Jitsu: ‘I took Him Down & Put Him in a Choke Hold’
Back in the 1984 European Championship in Jönköping, Sweden Olympic Wrestling gold medalist Georgi Markov disarmed an armed terrorist who even fired his weapon.
During the event, a young man with a bouquet of flower crosses the entire hall, heading towards the wrestling mat. Suddenly, the man drops his flowers and pulls out a rifle: he is a terrorist, and he starts threating people with his weapon. The panic rises, but there is one person in the hall who keeps his temper. This person is Georgi Markov and he immediately attacks the terrorist, disarming him and preventing a bloody accident.
Georgi Markov from Bulgaria was the gold winner in the 1972 Summer Olympics, one time World champion and champion of Europe. On the 1984 European Championship in Jönköping, Markov disarmed a terrorist who intruded in the sport-hall.
He was also the gold winner in the 1972 Summer Olympics, one time World champion and champion of Europe.
