Why was Rousey all head first in the last two fights that have proven to be her downfall? Why so dead set on boxing?
Apparently she was working on her boxing return with Mikaela Mayer — a two-time US national champion, four-time national Golden Glove champion and member of Team USA Boxing at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
Rousey was on one of the longest winning streaks in UFC history before getting knocked out by Holly Holm at UFC 193 on November 2015.
She even commented on the recent Rousey loss:
We cannot forget the doors Ronda Rousey has opened for women in this sport. I have nothing but #respect and admiration for her accomplishments and it was an honor to spend some time in her camp.
Sending #positive thoughts your way and wishing you all the best, Ronda!
She explains it all in this clip below from before her first fight with Holly Holm and it all makes perfect sense. She has developed a love for boxing and has barely been training her Judo:
Sloth Jiu-Jitsu: you can be slow and unathletic and still kick butt in Jiu-Jitsu.
