Ocean Pro Jiu-Jitsu Final 2024 Results: A Night of Dominance and Dynamic Submissions

The Ocean Pro Jiu-Jitsu Final 2024 concluded on September 21st, delivering nearly eight hours of high-level grappling action in Cagliari, Italy. This year’s event was packed with thrilling matches and unexpected results, all under a unique ruleset that emphasized submission attempts over traditional point-scoring positions. The innovative format created a high-octane environment that encouraged aggressive grappling, resulting in an impressive number of submission finishes throughout the event.

Standout Performances: Gamila Kanew’s Dual Victory

One of the biggest stories of the night was the incredible performance of Gamila Kanew, who made history by winning both the Women’s Lightweight and Heavyweight divisions. Kanew, who earned her spot in both brackets by triumphing at the Ocean BJJ Trials in different weight classes, dominated her opponents with a perfect 4-0 record. She submitted both of her semifinal opponents in quick succession and then showed tremendous grit and technical prowess to win by decision in the finals of both divisions. Her dual victory secured her place as one of the top rising stars in women’s jiu-jitsu and marked her as a force to be reckoned with in future competitions.

The Under 80kg division was equally exciting, with Tarik Hopstock coming out on top. After a tough semifinal victory over Pawel Jaworski, Hopstock faced Fabyury Khrysthyan in a challenging final match. Both athletes pushed the pace, but it was Hopstock who managed to secure the win and claim the title. His victory solidified his reputation as one of the most technically proficient and strategic competitors in the division.
