We’ve previously talked about how Polaris is changing. The longest running sub only event in bjj has restructured itself as a championship. Previously leg one of the event was revealed as Welterweight championship, perhaps designed to provide a challenge for the first belt holder – Craig Jones.
But it looks as though the featherweight will be the category to watch with old generation leglockers meeting the freshest faces of sub only – on one leg there’s a veteran Masakazu Imanari and on the other just announced Nicky Ryan!
Ryan is fresh of his victory over seasoned veteran Geo Martinez
Nicky Ryan will be meeting Phil Harris
Nicky Ryan makes his Polaris debut with his sights firmly set on the 145lbs belt. Standing in his way is UFC and Polaris veteran Phil Harris.
It’s youth vs experience in this featherweight elimination match!
