Nicholas Meregali Faces Criticism for Charging $250 for his Jiu-Jitsu Seminar

Attending a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seminar is a truly great way to upgrade your BJJ skills and improve your level. The cost of attending a BJJ seminar may sometimes seem very expensive. Some of the big names such Rickson Gracie, Gordon Ryan etc.. charge between 100 and 200 usd per person. It may seem high but a better way to see this is to consider it an investment in yourself and the future of your Jiu-Jitsu career.

Multiple BJJ world champion Nicholas Meregali recently announced that he would conducting a 4 hour seminar to a group of 50 people max for the price of 250 usd per person. If you do the maths , that’s 12,500 usd.

The champion faced some backlash online, mostly from Brazilians. Americans were much less critical of as they are more used to paying high fees for seminars.

Meregali, answered his critics by comparing himself with soccer legend & world cup winner Lionel Messi and how it would be impossible to have such exclusive access to the legend for 250 usd:

“I just texted Lionel Messi and I’m hosting his 4 hours seminar here in Austin for $250 (private group of 50) I know you think it’s a joke but it’s definitely real.” 😂😂😂🤦🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

If you think $250 is too expensive to learn from one of the best in the World, you literally have no idea how hard it’s to become one of the BESTS. Exactly you know how hard it’s but I can remind you quickly.

If you train Jiu Jitsu, please look back to all effort you put on it?? and tell me which level you got to reach with all the effort you put on?? Probably the effort that one of the best in the world put on to reach his level is easily 50x more than the work you have done for yourself (jiu jitsu journey).

It’s funny that we’re still seeing people underpricing the Jiu Jitsu in 2023. What you do with $250??🤷🏼‍♂️ if I had a chance I’d pay 100 times more to meet Roger Federer, but unfortunately he’s not that cheap.😎

“Jiu Jitsu is not a In N Out dinner”.

When you have an opportunity to attend a BJJ seminar from someone’s game that you want to emulate , you should go for it. Consider it a chance for you to receive personalized instruction from experienced BJJ instructors that you cannot get from a DVD.
