Marcio Andre just beat Rubens Charles “Cobrinha” and eliminated him from the semi finals of Featherweight black belts at the IBJJF Worlds 2016.
The final score was 7:6 for Marcio André.
This effectively means that Cobrinha will be unable to face of once again against Rafa Mendes.
Rubens Charles “Cobrinha” already conquered the Worlds several times, in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

On another front Caio Terra faced off against Joao Miyao and achieved a nervous victory with a final score of 10:8
Gabriel Arges also managed to pull off an upset eliminating last year’s champion – Claudio Calasans. Arges’ leglock game was quite strong throughout.
Guilherme Augusto of Alliance – Cohad also managed to pull an upset. He took out Erberth Santos by two points. Great final minutes!
After a 2-2 tie, Jackson Sousa beat Felipe Pena by split referee decision. He is off to meet Guilherme Augusto in the heavyweight semifinals.
