Marcelo Garcia Undergoes Successful Surgery, Looking Forward to Being back on the mat

Marcelo Garcia has long teased a return to competitive grappling. After all the all time great is just 36 years old.

Garcia recently underwent surgery to fix an injury that has been bothering him for the last 5 years. The surgery in question was on his elbow and the aim was to fix a bone spur that has long caused the GOAT aches:

Garcia has been vocal about condemning the way grappling is promoted nowadays – and even put a condition on his return:

“I want to go to a big event, that treats people good, that respects all the fighters. An event who don’t make their fighters talk trash about each other. That’s what I’m looking for.”

His distaste for this type of behavior led to him suspending Dillon Danis and Mansher Khera and subsequently leaving his gym.
