Kurt Osiander’s Sneaky Lapel Choke Feat. Anthony Bourdain

Let’s pay tribute to the passing of Chef and bjj blue belt Anthony Bourdain with a look back at a special installment of Kurt Osiander’s hugely popular YouTube “Move of the Week” videos, where he welcomed Bourdain, who was in San Francisco to shoot “Parts Unknown” his pouplar TV show on CNN.

Kurt and Anthony have a lot in common in terms of being rebels with big hearts. which featured BJJ and Kurt quite predominantly.

Kurt shows a sneaky lapel choke which he sets up from a knee slice pass on Bourdain’s half guard. As Kurt cuts through the guard, He allows Bourdain to retain an under hook. When Anthony gets the underhook and feels safe, Kurt then proceeds to shoot in his choking hand and puts his lapel across Bourdain’s neck and steps over to lock in a high pressure choke.

Check out the great old school technique and let’s celebrate the great Anthony Bourdain’s love for Jiu-Jitsu and his impact on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
