Kron Gracie Shares What He Plans to Change for His Upcoming UFC Fight

Kron Gracie Looks to Redeem Himself Against Bryce Mitchell at UFC 310

After more than a year away from the octagon, Kron Gracie is set to return at UFC 310, taking on Bryce Mitchell in a featherweight bout at T-Mobile Arena. This fight marks a fresh start for Gracie (5-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC), who last competed at UFC 288, where he faced sharp criticism following a unanimous decision loss to Charles Jourdain. The performance, marred by his reliance on butt scooting and minimal striking engagement, prompted a harsh reevaluation of his approach.

Reflecting on that fight, Gracie admits it was a low point in his career but also a critical learning experience.

“My fight with Jourdain was my worst ever,” Gracie shared during the UFC 310 media day. “I tried to follow the advice of people in the jiu-jitsu world who told me to focus solely on grappling and not strike. It didn’t work. I went in with only one weapon and, even then, I wasn’t finished. That taught me I need to mix things up. In my earlier fights in Japan, I was more well-rounded. Now, I’m looking to put on a complete performance.”

A Clash of Grappling Styles Against Mitchell

Facing a high-level grappler in Bryce Mitchell (16-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC), Gracie is eager for the challenge. Mitchell’s penchant for taking the fight to the ground could create the perfect stage for Gracie to showcase his skills, though he’s ready for any scenario.

“He’s got solid grappling,” Gracie noted. “But fights rarely go how you think. People approach me differently than they do others. I don’t know if he’ll come at me aggressively or keep his distance. If it ends up being a kickboxing match, I’ll adapt. I’m prepared to fight wherever it benefits me the most, whether that’s on the ground or standing.”

A New Chapter for Gracie

Having only fought twice since early 2019, Gracie views UFC 310 as a chance to reset his career and build momentum. He’s motivated to compete more frequently and even considers stepping into a larger promotional role within the UFC, despite his reserved nature.

“There’s a lot of mystery around me because I don’t share my life on social media,” Gracie said. “I’ve been focused on training and improving myself, not on promotion. But I’m open to it if the opportunity comes. For now, my focus is on fighting and proving myself in the octagon.”

For Gracie, this fight isn’t just about redeeming himself from past mistakes—it’s about showing the evolution of his game and reigniting his journey in the UFC.
