Judo Gold Medalist Satoshi Ishii Promoted To BJJ Black Belt – Will Compete At Nogi Worlds

Ishii is a Japanese judoka and mixed martial artist noted for winning a gold medal in Olympic Judo at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China, a silver medal at the 2006 Asian Games and two All-Japan Judo Championships. In mma he’s 16=8=1 having last fought in October of 2017. He submitted Schmiedeberg via kimura in Final Fight Championship 30.

Ishii struck up a friendship with Crocop after the two competed against each other. This has lead Ishii to relocate to Croatia where he promised to help out the judo national squad.

According to sources Satoshi Ishii received his black belt in jiu jitsu from Yuki Nakai.
