John Danaher Announces Reshoot Of His DVD, Dedication To Quality Service

John Danaher’s dvd dropped recently. The interest for the instructional was unparalleled. Danaher himself confirmed:

“Last week my leg lock instructional video was released and within hours became the biggest seller in BJJ Fanatics catalogue by a landslide. “

Unfortunately many of the buyers were saddened to reveal that the audio quality was subpar however a solution for this is on the way:

“Unfortunately it has become apparent that certain aspects of the production quality – in particular the audio (but some other aspects too) were not up to acceptable standards. The general consensus is that the content is great but the sound production is at best adequate and at worst lame. While nothing is lost on the audio, it’s not fair to subject you all to my voice sounding like some leg locking mix of Darth Vader and Bane! It’s doubly unfortunate because the whole idea of the video was to be dialogue/concepts heavy rather than just another video with a collection of moves. If a viewer were watching for extended periods of time, say on a plane or train or just at home, it could definitely be distracting or annoying. I want people to ENJOY watching the video and repeat view/review often – not ENDURE watching the video because they really want to know the moves! BJJ Fanatics tried to get sound engineers to rectify the problem. The best they could do were slight improvements. I believe if there is a serious problem with something – attack the whole problem rather than put a band aid on it and pretend it’s not an issue. Accordingly I have decided to go up to Boston on the train this weekend and reshoot the entire video from start to finish and have BJJ Fanatics offer it free to all those of you who bought it (you will also be able to keep the original Bane voice version as well if you wish – Also anyone buying in the future will have access to both versions). In addition we will make some improvements based on my experience with the first shoot – two cameras this time instead of one and less zooming from main camera. Whenever my students make mistakes in competition I always tell them to work hard to improve and rectify the error. In this case a mistake was made – whose fault it was is unimportant- the bottom line is that my name is on the product and therefore the right thing for me to do is work hard to fix it.In this case a mistake was made – whose fault it was is unimportant- the bottom line is that my name is on the product and therefore the right thing for me to do is work hard to fix it.In this case a mistake was made – whose fault it was is unimportant- the bottom line is that my name is on the product and therefore the right thing for me to do is work hard to fix it.”

I’ve always preached a commitment to excellence among my students- I wouldn’t be much of a coach if i didn’t follow my own advice. I would have done it this past weekend but I had a prior coaching commitment with Georges St-Pierre. I will also add new material not shown in first video and seek to improve my delivery of information to make a leaner and better viewing experience and help atone for the initial problem. Never having shot a video before I just assumed the production company would be the experts to trust with the technical matters while i did the coaching- I’m not sure what went wrong as even a simple phone camera takes better audio than some of the scenes on the instructional.I am greatly heartened by the many messages i have received from people who loved the content of the video and are seeing improvements in both their performance and understanding – now I hope to do even better by bringing production up to the same level 🤗🤗 Apologies to you all for the initial mishap and looking forward to setting it straight this weekend!

There is a massive 50% OFF  SALE on Video Instructionals at BJJ Fanatics, which feature quality instructionals from Tom DeBlass, Craig Jones, Dean Lister, Bernardo Faria and many more….(Type in the code ‘BJJEE” and you will receive a further 10% discount on your purchases)

An email BJJFanatics sent out reads:

“This past week, we released John Danaher’s Leglocks: Enter The System. The material John presented as the premiere expert on leglocks in the world (probably the premiere expert on all things grappling) was as expected: incredible. John is an amazing resource – that is not news, but the way in which he presented the material was very different. John covered a lot of theory and then demonstrated the practice. It was over 9 hours of content.

When we shot, the audio did not come out good as expected. There is only one person fully responsible for the quality of the product: its me and I f’ed up. I can make a thousand excuses as to why: but at the end of the day, the answer is the same: I f’ed up. Some of the threads out there have confirmed in no uncertain terms – this is true.

Now, where I got lucky is that John is beyond committed to his students, fans and followers. I learned all I needed to know about John by what he didn’t say: He never mentioned lost money, being reimbursed for his time or anything having to do with money – all he cares about is his students: who are now worldwide, having the best experience they can with this product, and he is coming to our headquarters to fix it.

So this coming weekend we are going to reshoot and then re-release the entire product again. I am committed to grapplers getting the most out of every video we produce and John is someone who cares – as much as anyone I’ve ever met – about his students’ experience.

So what does this mean?

If you’ve already bought John Danaher’s Leglocks Enter The System, you will receive access to the new online version of the product as soon as it is ready (2-3 weeks from now), and you will also receive updated DVDs if you also ordered the DVDs

If you buy John’s Leglocks: Enter The System between now and the new release date, you will get access to the current version, and receive the update as soon as it is ready and you will receive updated DVDs as soon as they are ready. So we have a big weekend ahead: This version needs to be excellent and it will be: it will be one we can all be proud of and everyone can enjoy.

In just 2 years BJJ Fanatics has experienced some meteoric growth – we now have over 60,000 subscribers, we are growing out of our second physical space and sometimes the growth is difficult to manage. We might not always get it right the first time but our goal is to make everyone happy – I actually use those words with our customer service staff “make everyone happy.” We want to be the company you you rely on to learn from the best instructors on the planet.

Because of John, and his unrelenting commitment to his students, I believe we are going to make everyone happy again. So please take this as a formal apology from me to John and all of our customers who purchased and didn’t the audio quality they should have. You will have what you deserve very soon.

Thank you, Michael Zenga”
