Jake Shields Talks Beef With Dillon Danis & Danis’ Expulsion From Home Gym

Jake Shields is currently signed with World Series Of Fighting – an mma promotion that’s going through a transition. They decided to rebrand as a league and give monthly salaries to fighters.

While he awaits to see where he stands with the new organization Shields is focusing on the Submission Underground 4 match he has going against Dillon Danis.

Dillon Danis found himself in some hot water after sharing moments from his water throwing moments from the Diaz vs McGregor press conference – a situation Shields was involved with as well.

When asked to comment on Danis’ skills, Shields said:

“I mean he’s a great opponent, he’s really skilled. You know he might be a little pr*ck and mouthy and cocky but the guy … I’m not gonna knock his skills by any means. He’s legit, he’s one of the best in the world and it’s exciting to fight him. “

Looks like Dillon is getting some good posing in for our match.

When further prompted Shields commented:

“It’s kind of a half act he’s a little Conor boy  having a rivalry with Conor and then I’m with Renzo’s so they have a little rivalry going. Of course there’s a little bit of bad blood between the two of us but overall I don’t think he’s that bad of a guy. “

When asked to comment on Danis’ expulsion from Marcelo Garcia gym and on whether he has the backing of the grappling community Shields responded:

“A little bit, I think some guys like Dillon but overall I don’t think he’s one of the more liked guys.”

Shields continued

… kicked off from Marcelo’s which I have no idea what happened with that but Marcelo is one of the nicest guys I’ve met so it must’ve done something to make him kicked off the team.”
