Injury Sidelines Galvao from IBJJF Pro League GP, Replaced By Ceconi

Andre Galvao is the latest to relinquish a spot in IBJJF Pro League Grand Prix 2016 following Romulo Barral and Bernardo Faria.

Celebrated fighter will be replaced by Alex Ceconi, a black belt from Rillion Gracie lineage.

Ceconi has won the Brazilian National Championships twice and most recently a silver medal at the Pan Ams 2016.

He is known for his guard passing style as well as an incling to pull an armbar from sidecontrol.

Here is the final card:

Mohamed Aly

The young Mohamed Aly is one of the most exciting young black belts on the circuit who, on a good day, can beat anybody.

Bruno Bastos

Fighting out of Midland, Texas, Bastos is one of the biggest names among the 8 man roster, being the owner and chief of his own association, the Bruno Bastos Association.

Xande Ribeiro

Seasoned veteran Xande Ribeiro needs no introduction. He’s pretty much won it all. The two time ADCC champion will no doubt be an exciting competitor at the event.

Leo Nogueira

Noguiera was a standout at the 2016 World Championship, having taken gold in the Black Belt Adult Male Super Heavy weight division. He will be filling in for teammate, and 4X World Champion, Bernardo Faria.

Joao Gabriel Rocha

The 2x Brazilian National Champion is looking for redemption, after his loss against Buchecha in the Black Belt Adult Male Ultra Heavy weight Semi-Final at the 2016 World Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF Championship.

Felipe Preguica Pena

Felipe Preguica got the spot instead of Romulo Barral who felt he had to leave the card due to injury. Felipe Preguica will fill in for Barral who was supposed to perform one of the last times before retiring from high level competition scene.

Marcus Buchecha Almeida
Marcus “Buchecha is looking to extend his winning streak after having placed 1st in both the Black Belt Adult Male Ultra Heavy weight division and the Open weight class division at the 2016 World Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF Championship.

Alex Ceconi

Ceconi is an exciting fighter from the heavyweight division. He’s also had some experience in mixed martial arts. Ceconi is a well rounded player with plenty of experience. It will certainly be interesting to see what he brings to the table
