How Would An Average BJJ Practitioner Do in a Street Altercation with an NFL Lineman?

In American Football, Linemen are usually the largest players on the field in both height and weight, since their positions usually require less running and more strength than skill positions. They usually weigh around 300lbs and beyond.

How would the average BJJ practitioner do in a street altercation against an NFL lineman with no grappling skills?

In a straight grappling match, the BJJ practitioner would have a huge advantage (depending on their skill level of course) but how about in  a street fight?

Here you can see a video of an elite and strong BJJ practitioner Rener Gracie grappling with an NFL athlete. It’s not even close:

Erik “Captain” Wekerle, a BJJ practitioner with a Degree in Exercise Science, discusses the chances per belt chances that a BJJ practitioner would have if they fought an NFL lineman.

Wekerle is a former competitive bodybuilder and American Football player at the University of Kentucky.  Be sure to check out his YouTube channel (ProtectYaNeckFitness): https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHsdUNlwGSZdeHMOSoE2lDA

Wekerle is also famous for explaining how BJJ athletes cheat the IBJJF PED Test.
