Gordon Ryan Willing To Put 100k On The Line For Danis Fight

Gordon Ryan loves to talk a good game but everyone knows he isn’t afraid to put his money where his mouth is.

His sharp tongue couldn’t be outdone by the mere thought of putting up as much as a 100.000 $ to Danis’ 20.000 $ for a grapple fight everyone would remember.

UPDATE: Altercation Video + Dillon Danis Rushes On Tonon, MMA bout Might Not Be Far Behind

The smart a*s act had already cost Gordon Ryan the Grappling Industries sponsor for a fight to Todd Mueckenheim (that was later moved to another event)!

But as Gordon said himself, he isn’t willing to let this grudge go so easily. Here’s how he explains his rationale for it:

On the other hand many claim Danis has taken to liking Conor McGregor’s style and is looking to make his own brand of notoriety.

Toast to good business

The North American Trials ADCC winner Mansher Khera is just happy with his new standing and thankful to teammate Dillon for continued support!

Interestingly, one of the people Khera thanked is the above mentioned sponsor who stopped backing Gordon Ryan Grappling Industries fights – @nycdivorcelawyer aka James L Sexton.

This is what he said on the topic of MG Dream Team vs Danaher Death Squad:

As a member of the MGA team and a longtime supporter and sponsor of the BJJ community I just want to express my sincere desire that everyone in the MGA “Dream Team” and “Danaher Death Squad” can find and maintain the right balance between excited competitive rhetoric and courtesy/respect.

I know all the players involved here and am proud to call Munchie, Mateus and Dillon my friends and teammates. I also know Garry, Gordon & Eddie (although admittedly less well). I was the sponsor of Gordon’s last superfight (against Keenan) because I have such respect for his skills and the work John Danaher is doing with his students at Renzo’s.
In all my interactions with athletes from Renzo’s academy – I’ve never heard anyone speak disparagingly of the Marcelo Garcia team or academy. Perhaps you might write this off as them “holding their tongue” when speaking to a member of that academy – but I don’t think that’s the case. I’ve gotten to know some of the Renzo people very well and spoken to them privately and candidly.

In all my interactions with athletes from Marcelo Garcia – I’ve never heard anyone speak disparagingly of the Renzo academy or the Danaher squad. If anything – I’ve heard my teachers and teammates repeatedly comment on their skills and abilities. I’m always humbled and impressed by the mutual respect between these two amazing institutions. We are blessed, as New Yorkers, to have two academies of this level within a few blocks of each other.
These are six amazing athletes. Six men who are dedicated to the art we all love – training and competing at a level that most BJJ practitioners will never come near. They eat, sleep and breathe Jiu-Jitsu and have structured their entire lives around carrying the art forward. They all have different personalities and skills (on and off the mat) but they have far more in common with each other than they do with most of the other 7.1 billion people on the planet. All six of them know a level of sacrifice, effort and discipline that most of us will never experience.
