German Kumite (Submission Only): Eldar ‘Yakuza’ & Hannah Rauch Victorious

The 2014 German Kumite challenge is done and dusted. This is a submission only, no points invite-only competition which regroups the best blue and purple belts in Europe.

Blue belts competed last weekend at Fight Fusion Gym in Regensburg, so now last weekend was the turn of the purple belts. 8 men from all over Europe and, unfortunately, only two women fought for the prize money and the title of the German winner of Kumite 2.0. There were a lot of short and dynamic matches but also to real marathons as is often the case with submission only matches.

In the women’s purple belt, there was only one superfight:  Hannah Rauch and Tanya Tansiri. The match lasted a crazy 126 minutes!!! Hannah won the fight by Bow and Arrow choke.

In the men’s, Eldar “Yakuza” Rafigaev (Check out his interview)  had a very dominant performance facing 7 opponents, and submitting 6 in less than 9 minutes all together!

Eldar “Yakuza” Rafigaev is one of the biggest European BJJ prospects. This Half Moldovan Half Russian purple belt fighting out of Jungle BJJ in Czech Republic is a competition machine in Central-Eastern Europe, and medals everywhere he goes.
In 2013, Eldar Competed 18 times!
His last major competitions: Naga Paris: Gold, IBJJF European: Silver, Abu Dhabi Cup: Gold, East European Open: Gold and last weekend Polish No Gi Open: Gold!

It took Yakuza 21 minutes to beat Florent Minguet.

The winners won 500 € + Trophy + Adidas package.
