Former WWE Star Tom Pestock Wins Gold At Jiu-Jitsu World League Tournament

Former WWE star Tom Pestock, better known to wrestling fans as Baron Corbin, continues to impress on the mats.

Competing under his real name, Bishop Dyer, the current MLW tag team champion wpm another gold medal over the weekend, at the Jiu-Jitsu World League Florida XII tournament.

Dyer celebrated the victory on social media despite sporting a noticeable cut above his right eyebrow:

A month off for the eye. Three days of training. What do we do? We still get gold! Add it to the collection.

That collection has grown rapidly since Dyer returned to competitive Jiu-Jitsu.
As a purple belt, he has earned multiple gold and silver medals over the past two years.

Among his biggest accomplishments were double gold performances at the IBJJF Tampa International Open in late 2025 and the IBJJF Pan-American Championships earlier this year.

Dyer first began training Jiu-Jitsu in 2009 while playing in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals.
However, after signing with WWE in 2012, he largely stepped away from the sport:

I stopped doing Jiu-Jitsu just because I was trying to make a new career starting from the bottom, you know, trying to do something special with WWE.

After spending more than a decade as a blue belt, Dyer was finally promoted to purple belt, reigniting his passion for competition.

He now trains under respected black belt Marcio Cruz in Tampa, Florida, where he says the training environment is anything but easy:

Jiu-Jitsu has kind of filled that void of giving me constant goals. Obviously, we have a really tough list of black belts at our gym, so when you go there, especially on tournament nights or sparring nights, you better be in shape and ready to go.
