Eddie Bravo’s Advice for Developing a Lethal Rear Naked Choke Squeeze

The Rear Naked Choke is the most powerful submission in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. However, as powerful as it may be, you still need to develop great technique and good squeeze strength if you want to take the most out of it.
But how are you supposed to develop your Rear Naked Choke squeeze? Eddie Bravo shares a great idea.

DEVELOP YOUR REAR NAKED CHOKE SQUEEZE WITH EDDIE BRAVO

You don’t need to sign up for a gym nor invest into any fancy equipment to do this exercise… What’s more, you don’t need any equipment at all! You’ll just use your body.
Furthermore, you don’t need to allocate any particular time for this exercise “routine” – you can do it whenever you find yourself bored, such as when you’re watching TV.

Eddie shows that you’re simply going to wrap your choke around your knee (bend it first, of course) and squeeze as much as you can for a limited amount of time. Then apply the squeeze on the other side – on the other leg, that is.
You can also make the squeeze less painful (as your arm will hurt when you start choking out your own knee with it) by lowering it below the knee.

Here’s Eddie Bravo demonstrating this Rear Naked Choke squeeze improvement method. Just make sure that you’re also practicing your technique.
