There are so many different armbar set ups around. You can place an armbar from literally any position: mount, side control, back and also inferior positions such bottom side control, back etc…
Renzo Gracie black belt Karel ‘Silver Fox’ Pravec dropped by the Tristar Gym in Montreal, Canada as a guest of Firas Zahabi. When he was asked to demonstrate his favorite armbar, Silver Fox showed some nice variations of armbars where you would sit with your hip laying on your partner’s ribcage and trapping the arm under your armpit. Hence the name ‘Armpit Armbar’.
