It’s been a great weekend for DJ Jackson! Grappling pro Championship just launched their innovative project – gathering a lot of grapplers at 170lbs for a total grand prize of 10.000$.
One might ask themselves just how is this tournament different from others. The answer is rather simple, Grappling Pro includes 3 rounds and additional rules that would make rolling out of bounds penalized. In addition to these two specifics there’s also a third – the grappler who scores last at the finish of each round gets an additional point added to their score.
DJ Jackson made most of these rules and scored an interesting victory over Garry Tonon. 1st round was very exciting and it appeared Tonon was having a strategy similar to that he had against Palhares – he was doing his best to land in a favorable position after several takedown attempts by DJ. DJ did score a takedown on Garry however Garry managed to push him out of bounds once and with the additional point added for the end of round he made even! Rounds 2 and 3 were heavily strategized and provided quite a show for many spectators including Roberto Cyborg Abreu. The final score was 7 for DJ and only 2 for Garry.

One interesting tidbid revealed on social media is that DJ Jackson refuses to compete in sub only, he is only interested in situations where the competitors are being scored as per this revealing comment of Gordon Ryan:
Among many to have congratulated DJ Jackson on securing a victory today are bjj bad boy Erberth Santos and Kit Dale Among others.
Santos complementing with a plain: “Monster” while Kit shared an enthusiastic “My boy!!!”
