Dana White: St-Pierre Is Done, He Will Never Fight Again In UFC

Jacare can breathe a sigh of relief. Dana White was bombarded with questions this past Friday, and among them a question about Georges St-Pierre’s return to UFC.

White responded:

“Georges St-Pierre will not fight again. I’ve said that before and I’ll say it again. Georges St-Pierre is done. He is retired. He will not fight again.”

White added: “”I’ve dealt with him. We’ve been dealing with this thing. I’ve been in this since I was 19 years old. I know the mentality of a fighter that wants to fight and I know the mentality of a fighter that does not want to fight.”

Georges St-Pierre has been retired for 3 years now, interestingly he last fought Johny Hendricks in November 2013, the same Johny Hendricks  who missed his weight at UFC 200 weigh in earlier on Friday.

St-Pierre retired due to being unable to deal with the pressure in the sport which he credited with taking away all of life’s joys from him, in addition to expressing concerns about the number of athletes doping.

Relatively new partnership of USADA and UFC prompted GSP to think about coming back once again but Dana White isn’t buying it:

“He’s been saying that for a long time.” said White. “I wholeheartedly believe you’ll never see Georges St-Pierre in the Octagon again unless he’s cornering somebody.”

The Canadian said it would be great to return against Bisping (in a  different weight division) for a title shot however he was met with the anger of others who want a title shot, namely Ronaldo Souza Jacare:

“St-Pierre has never fought at middleweight. I do not know what he’s doing here. For me, he’s a chicken. If I get it, break it in half. He is retired and want to fight for the title in a division that he never fought before? he always fled from Anderson (Silva), fighting in average, and now he wants the belt? ”

“Look, I’ll give this chance to him and it will be easy for me. He’s a chicken. If they go up, I’ll leave Bisping for later, and since I know I am close to a title shot. I want to break him (St-Pierre). I’ll break his neck.”
