Craig Jones Shows The Blueprint For Dealing with Heavier Wrestlers in his Roll with Josh Barnett

Craig Jone’s recently posted an interesting video of him training at his new academy, B-Team Jiu-Jitsu Academy located in Austin, Texas.

Jones did some no No Gi grappling training with former UFC champion, Metamoris champion, catch wrestler and BJJ black belt Josh Barnett. Jones showed exactly how a smaller, more technical grappler can defeat a stronger, heavier and more aggressive wrestler. Jones used specific butterfly guards to work for sweeps, under hooks and over hooks, constant guillotine attempts and inversions into either sweeps or leg locks. Barnett, a strong 260 lbs had no answer for the 190 lbs Jones’ game.

Remember, Barnett shocked the grappling worlds a few years ago when he dominated and the submited Dean Lister in a grappling match at Metamoris. He became the first person to have ever submitted Lister in competition…
